Packing Technology
We produce all types of packaging and crates for the transportation and storage of works of art, as well as display stands and other exhibition materials.
Protective craftsmanship
MTAB’s packing experts and technicians often inspect the objects on site at the museum, after which they produce the crates in our carpentry workshop. The assignment is then concluded by packing the objects and sealing the crates at the customer’s premises.
A plywood frame forms the basis for each crate. The corners, top and back of the crate are then reinforced with extra plywood, after which the crate is covered with Neopolen polypropylene foam. The rest of the crate is then adapted to suit the specific object it will be carrying. Unique objects require unique solutions, and our packing experts produce the best possible solution in close collaboration with the customer.
Our wooden packaging is approved for marking with the Swedish Board of Agriculture’s phytosanitary certificate according to ISPM 15. This phytosanitary mark of compliance is a requirement for the use of packaging within the EU and guarantees that the wood has been treated against the spread of pests that pose a threat to forests in the EU.

Special Packaging
We have our own packing technology department where we produce special packaging for all types of objects. Our staff have long experience of transporting works of art and museum objects, and they build different types of crates and transport frames on a daily basis.

Unpackaged
MTAB’s vehicles are specially equipped to enable transportation of unpackaged goods in a safe manner. Our specially designed vehicles are equipped with tail lifts to reduce vibrations during loading and unloading.

Exhibition service
Producing an exhibition involves a lot of planning. Our employees’ long experience of handling, and assembling, art and museum objects means a great understanding of the special needs that exist in the exhibition sector.

ROKBOX
MTAB offers transportation of art with ROKBOX as an alternative to producing our own transport packaging for art shipments.

Art Storage
Handling art involves much more than basic storage. We meet all climate, security and temperature requirements, and we can also offer many other services.

Art Transportation
When works of art are to be transported, naturally there is a need for specially adapted vehicles with constant climate and temperature control. Our fleet also includes vehicles with extra high cargo area and vehicles with double courier seats, security systems and extra long tail lift to enable transportation of particularly heavy and/or large objects.

White Glove
MTAB offers many different types of extra services, known as White Glove services. When we talk about White Glove, we are referring to services for the handling of objects requiring special care and attention, as well as extra services that we can offer in connection with the transport, such as positioning, installation and removal of packaging or existing products for recycling.
