Safeguarding cultural heritage during the Copenhagen Stock Exchange fire
On April 16th, 2024, a devastating fire broke out at Copenhagen's historic Stock Exchange (Børsen), threatening nearly 400 years of cultural heritage. Amidst the chaos, swift collaboration between museums, emergency services, and transport companies helped save invaluable artworks and artefacts from destruction. This is the story of how dedicated professionals, including MTAB, played a crucial role in this rescue operation.

Intelligent Robotic Octopus
The Swedish art duo Robert Stasinski and Alessandra Di Pisa has designed a unique piece of art – a giant robotic octopus. Using artificial intelligence, the octopus can interact with viewers around complex philosophical questions. MTAB transported the artwork from The Royal School of Technology in Stockholm to IBM’s headquarters in Kista. Med artificiell intelligens kan robotbläckfisken filosofera kring livets frågor. MTAB ansvarade för transporten från KTH till IBM:s huvudkontor i Kista.

The Terracotta Army at the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities
Parts of the world-famous Terracotta Army from China were on display at the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities in Stockholm throughout 2011. This exhibition was unique as it was displayed in a quite spectacular setting, also included more recent finds from similar burial sites. More than 350 000 visitors saw the exhibition.

Figurehead in secure storage
The Maritime Museum & Aquarium in Gothenburg is undergoing a major renovation and extension. In order to allow the work to be carried out, the exhibits have been moved temporarily into storage. MTAB was commissioned to dismantle and remove the objects that were most difficult to access.
